Introduced legislation to deal with mini-hotels in residential neighborhoods
Advocated for dialog between residents and business interests to resolve issues
Supported legislation to preserve our fragile environment including marsh setbacks, tree preservation, clean water
Introduced initiative, which passed, to improve city website for better communication with citizens
Advocated for island-wide parking plan to reduce congestion
Pushed to eliminate consideration of costly property purchase for new fire station (which was dropped)
Opposed wasteful spending proposals for unnecessary “studies”
Voted against council salary increase
A seven-year resident of Isle of Palms, Jane became concerned about development issues on Isle of Palms and won a seat on city council in 2003. For the past four years, she has advocated for residents' interests and fought for their voice to be heard at council.
Jane McMackin has NO SPECIAL INTEREST in serving Isle of Palms. She is dedicated to the community and the enhancement of our quality of life. She has proven experience, with four years as your elected council representative.
